Job Details:
Truck and Transport Mechanic (NOC: 72410)
Salary: $37 to $50/hour (depending on experience)
Positions Available: 3
Type: Permanent – Full time (Minimum 40 hrs./week evenings and weekends may be needed)

We are looking for reliable, responsible hard-working mechanics to join our team.
Job Duties:
- Inspect and test mechanical units, such as engines, transmissions, axles, and brake systems, to find faults and malfunctions.
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions and confirm findings with supervisor to decide whether to repair or replace unit.
- Repair or replace mechanical units or components using hand and power tools.
- Test and adjust units to specifications for proper performance.
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed.
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of commercial transport truck systems including chassis, frame, cab, body, engine and drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems including structural, brake and electrical systems.
Qualifications and skills requirements:
- Excellent coordination and mechanical skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Valid driver license is required.
- Must have tools to perform the work.
Experience:
- 3-years of work experience as a certified Red Seal Commercial Transport Mechanic (or similar/related certification)
- 5+ years of work experience as a truck and transport mechanic preferred.
- Truck and Transport mechanic trade certification is preferred.
- We will be willing to consider 3rd or 4th year apprentice.
Education Requirements/Credentials:
- Red Seal Commercial Transport Mechanic is preferred.
- Commercial Inspection Certificate for BC will be an asset.
- Completion of some training courses or a vocational program
