Alpine Glass Window & Doors Ltd is looking for an experienced Glazier for their Fort St John, British Columbia location.
Job Duties and skill requirements:
· Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine the type and thickness of glass, frame, installation procedure and materials required.
· Measure and mark glass and cut-glass using glass cutters.
· Tint glass and create patterns on glass.
· Assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolds.
· Position glass panes into frames and secure glass using clips, points, moldings, or caulking.
· Assemble and install prefabricated glass, mirrors or glass products on walls, ceilings, or exteriors of buildings.
· Fabricate metal frames for glass installation.
· Install, fit, fabricate and attach architectural metals or related substitute products in commercial and residential buildings.
· Install pre-cut mirrors and opaque and transparent glass panels in frames to form exterior walls of buildings.
· Replace glass in furniture and other products.
· Prepare and install skylights, showcases and aquariums.
· Repair and service residential windows, commercial aluminum doors and other glass supporting structures, and replace damaged glass or faulty sealant.
· May prepare cost estimates for customers or clients.
· Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
· Willing to work outside in cold weather.
· Experience with Curtain wall, strip window and storefront glazing methods.
· Experience replacing pivots, closers, and door hardware.
· Use Aerial Work Platforms safely.
· Ability to work in customers’ houses.
· Able to represent our company.
Qualifications:
· Physical condition which allows for prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, crouching, bending, on gravel, concrete floors and other.
· Consistently working with loads in excess of 80 pounds
· 3-5 years’ experience as a Glazier.
· Must have Class 5 Drivers license.
· Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug tests.
Education Requirements/Credentials:
· High School
· Must be proficient in English.
· Applicable industry safety tickets will be required. Aerial Work Platform, Fall protection, First Aid.
