Salary: $38 to $42 per hour (depending on experience)

Vulcan Compression Ltd. is a locally owned machine shop operating in and around the Peace Region. We specialize in the repair and maintenance of natural gas reciprocating compressors and their serviceable components. We are looking for experienced individuals to join our team expansion as business grows. Our best service practice comes from providing our customers with depth knowledge and consistency on all we do.
Job Duties:
- Set up and operate a variety of machine shop equipment including manual lathes, milling machines, boring mills, cylindrical and surface grinders.
- Follow the scope of work for each repair, modification or manufacture job ensuring quality standards are adhered to.
- Complete the necessary paperwork to facilitate the required business functions.
- Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
- Understand and adhere to all organizational health and safety policies and procedures and ensure the safety of self and others. Qualifications and skills requirements:
- Excellent coordination and mechanical skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in math.
- Ability to lift-up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Rotating equipment.
- Reciprocating compressor components and pump fundamentals an asset.
Experience:
- 5 years of work experience as a machinist
- 10+ years of work experience as a machinist preferred
- Machinist read seal endorsement will be an asset. We will be willing to consider 3rd or 4th year apprentice
Education Requirements/Credentials:
- Completion of secondary school
- Completion of some industry courses in machining is required
- Machinist trade certificate will be an asset
- CNC machinist will be considered an asset
