We are looking for well-experienced Ethnic Cooks for “Mcewan Enterprises Inc.” to work at 38 Karl Fraser Road, Toronto, ON M3C 0H7, Canada.

Job Duties:
- Follow authentic Sri Lankan recipes and maintain portion control to prepare, garnish, and present ordered dishes to traditional standards.
- Prepare a variety of Sri Lankan appetizers, main courses, and accompaniments such as kottu roti, hoppers (appa), string hoppers (idiyappam), curries, sambols, mallung, and parippu (dal) as per the menu.
- Accommodate special requests from patrons, including adjustments to spice levels, dietary needs, or traditional variations of Sri Lankan dishes.
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and service of food orders.
- Provide guidance and instructions to kitchen assistants and helpers in preparing Sri Lankan dishes and handling key ingredients such as curry powders, coconut milk, pandan leaves, cinnamon, and Maldive fish.
- Maintain proper daily set-up of the kitchen/station, including requisitioning and stocking all required Sri Lankan spices, herbs, condiments, and other ingredients.
- Handle, store, and rotate all ingredients properly, with special attention to the freshness of spices, seafood, vegetables, and tropical fruits used in Sri Lankan cooking.
- Oversee the set-up, operation, cleaning, and breakdown of machinery and equipment used in food preparation.
- Maintain daily stock levels of key ingredients such as rice, coconut products, curry powders, fresh produce, and seafood to ensure quality and readiness.
- Return all items used during the shift to their designated storage, and clean and organize all work and storage areas in compliance with hygiene and safety standards.
Prerequisites:
Education: Secondary school or equivalent
Experience & Skills: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
Language: English
Hourly Rate: $ 36.00 to $ 38.00 per Hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week
Starting Date: As soon as possible
Terms of Employment: Full-time and permanent
