Job Description

We are looking for a well-experienced Pastry Chef for our company  L’ OCA Quality Market located at 340 Baseline Road, Sherwood Park, AB T8H 2N4, Canada.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee preparation and finishing of all pastry items, including doughs, creams, fillings, icings, plated desserts, and decorative displays.
  • Plan and design seasonal menus, specialty collections, and custom creations using premium and local ingredients.
  • Manage ingredient inventory, control food costs and waste, and source or negotiate with suppliers for specialty items.
  • Ensure pastry kitchen equipment is maintained, calibrated, and operated safely and efficiently.
  • Enforce strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and workplace health regulations.
  • Liaise with clients for custom orders, weddings, and events, translating visions into bespoke creations.
  • Innovate and test new recipes, flavor pairings, and presentation styles to keep offerings modern and competitive.
  • Train, supervise, and schedule pastry staff, ensuring consistency, quality, and craftsmanship across all production.
  • Coordinate pastry production for catering, corporate functions, and in-store events to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.

Prerequisites:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Experience & Skills: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the relevant field.

Language:English

Hourly Rate: $ 36.00 to $ 38.00  per Hour for 30 to 40 hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Full time and permanent

Benefits: 4 % Vacation Pay
