Job Title: Concrete Scanning Technician – GPR

Wage: $38/hr
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, 40 hours per week

Fraser Valley Concrete Scanning Ltd. is one of BC’s top GPR concrete scanning and coring firms. We work on major commercial, industrial, transit, and high-rise projects across the Lower Mainland and beyond. Our technicians use industry-leading GPR equipment to keep workers safe and help clients avoid damaging embedded structures.
We are growing and hiring two full-time Concrete Scanning Technicians. Experienced GPR or utility locating techs are strongly encouraged to apply. Apprentices with strong aptitude may also be considered.
Job Duties
- Conduct structural and subsurface investigations using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) equipment.
- Locate and identify embedded objects including rebar, post-tension cables, conduits, structural steel, and utilities.
- Interpret radar data in real time and determine safe coring and cutting locations.
- Mark scanning results clearly on concrete surfaces.
- Prepare detailed field sketches and technical reports.
- Work independently on active commercial construction sites.
- Complete hazard assessments and follow site safety procedures.
- Travel to job sites throughout the Lower Mainland.
- Maintain GPR equipment and company vehicle
What We’re Looking For
Education Requirements
Completion of a post-secondary program in geomatics, surveying, civil engineering technology, earth sciences, or related technical field; OR completion of a skilled mechanical trade program (e.g., millwright, mechanical technician); OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant technical experience.
Experience Requirements
Minimum 1 to less than 2 years of full-time, hands-on Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) concrete scanning experience in commercial construction environments. Experience must include independent field operation of GPR equipment and interpretation of radar data to identify embedded structural elements.

- Valid driver’s licence
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and make real-time technical decisions.
- Comfortable working in active commercial construction environments.
Compensation & Benefits
- $38 per hour

- Vacation pay – 6% of gross wages.
