Job Description

On-site lead welder position. Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment; read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes; examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications; operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products; start up, shut down, adjust and monitor robotic welding production line; maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment; weld or braze components; perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on equipment; operate machines and equipment; fit and weld parts together; establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units; ensure that safety standards and departmental policies are met; assemble and fit metal and prefabricated parts to close tolerances according to blueprints; installing machinery and equipment; supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers; requisition materials and supplies; verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments; ensure safety procedures are followed; plan repair work to be performed; develop procedures to clean up contaminated sites.

Requirements

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • English
  • Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely
