<p>Join Commissionaires!</p><p>Our focus is on our customers and our team members.  As Canada’s only not-for-profit security company, over 90% of our revenues go directly back to our team members in wages, health & dental benefits, RRSP contributions, employee recognition programs, and more.</p><p>Be part of a great team where your contribution is recognized.  We offer opportunities to service a range of different customers.  If interested in advancement, there is plenty of opportunity.  We are a dedicated equal opportunity employer with both structured and flexible shifts available across Vancouver Island and into the Yukon to suit every lifestyle – student, parent, night owl, you name it!</p><p>As one of Canada’s leading security organizations, our security professionals keep airports, schools, government facilities, and other commercial enterprises safe.</p><p>We also work with police departments and municipalities to help in keeping Canadians safe.</p><p>Location:  Parksville  Position Status: Part-Time, Full-Time and Casual Available Shifts: Various days, evenings, and overnight shifts Wage:  $20/hr – $21.53/hr Reports to: Site Supervisor/ Client Service Manager Key Responsibilities: Access Control: Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter.</p><p>Verify identification and issue temporary passes as needed.</p><p>Patrol Duties: Conduct regular patrols of the premises, to detect and deter any suspicious activity or potential security threats.</p><p>Surveillance Monitoring: Operate and monitor surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras and alarm systems, to identify and respond to any security breaches.</p><p>Incident Response: Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, taking appropriate action to resolve the situation and minimize risk.</p><p>This includes coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as required.</p><p>Report Writing: Prepare detailed and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and other security documentation as needed.</p><p>Maintain clear communication with supervisors and other security personnel.</p><p>Customer Service: Provide assistance and guidance to visitors and employees, ensuring a positive experience while maintaining security standards.</p><p>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Must possess a valid BC Security Workers License  or be willing to obtain it.</p><p>Must be able to obtain a Reliability Clearance and be minimum 19 years of age.</p><p>Strong observational skills and attention to detail.</p><p>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</p><p>Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.</p><p>Proficiency in using security technology (e.g., CCTV, access control systems).</p><p>Physical fitness and ability to perform duties requiring standing, walking, and patrolling for extended periods.</p><p>Working Conditions: Shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, may be required.</p><p>Must be able to work in various weather conditions if patrols involve outdoor areas.</p><p>The position requires standing or walking for extended periods.</p><p>BENEFITS AND PERKS RRSP contributions by employer Group-life Insurance & Long-term Disability Extended Health & Dental coverage BC Transit ProPass (15% off monthly bus pass) National Bursary and Recognition programs Training provided Free uniform and dry-cleaning reimbursement Safety boot reimbursement and PPE provided (as applicable)   Powered by JazzHR</p>
