Job Description
On-site maintenance carpenter position. Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials; build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems; fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware; estimate costs and materials; maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments; repair or replace defective machinery parts; install hardware such as knobs and hinges; set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops; vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases; monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns; disinfect pens, barns or poultry houses.
