Job Title: Assistant Hotel Manager
Location: Blackcomb Lodge, Whistler

Reports to: General Manager
About the Role
Blackcomb Lodge is currently seeking a reliable and experienced Assistant Hotel Manager to support the daily operations of our front desk team. This position is ideal for someone with strong leadership abilities, hands-on hotel experience, and a passion for customer service. The Front Desk Assistant will be the first point of contact for guests, responsible for delivering warm, efficient service throughout their stay. We are seeking a team player with minimun 3 years of hotelexperience in a ski resort town, who understands the unique demands of seasonal tourism and high guest volumes. You’ll handle reservations, guest services, and concierge-style support with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services & Operations
- Oversee day-to-day front desk operations to ensure a smooth and welcoming guest experience
- Handle VIP guests, escalated service issues, and owner relations with professionalism
- Manage concierge services and activity coordination (dining, transportation, etc.)
- Monitor and respond to guest feedback to continuously improve service standards
- Ensure front desk and lobby areas are clean, organized, and fully staffed
Team Leadership
- Hire, train, and supervise seasonal front desk and guest services staff
- Create front desk schedules and manage staffing levels during peak and off-peak times
- Lead pre-season onboarding and ongoing employee development
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
Sales & Reservations
- Manage and track all reservations, cancellations, and modifications
- Oversee group bookings and group sales coordination, including contracts and billing
- Collaborate with the sales team to maximize occupancy and revenue
- Monitor sales performance, upselling, and service quality metrics
- Provide oversight of OTA and channel connectivity (WebRezPro, OPERA, etc.)
Administrative & Oversight Duties
- Oversee room inventory, availability, and housekeeping coordination
- Ensure accurate daily reports, cash handling, and shift audits
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts for the front office
- Collaborate with housekeeping, maintenance to ensure seamless operations
- Enforce all hotel policies, safety standards, and service protocols
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of guest services supervisor experience in a ski resort town.
- Experience using property management systems such as WebRezPro and/or OPERA
- Microsoft office
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure during peak season
- Must be flexible to work evenings, weekends, and all major holidays
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a team-based environment
- Familiarity with local ski culture, outdoor recreation, and resort amenities is a plus.
- BC Driver’s Licence and own vehicle
