Maha’s 224-226 Greenwood Avenue, Toronto ON —is Toronto’s beloved Egyptian restaurant known for its vibrant atmosphere, warm hospitality, and unforgettable flavours. We are urgently hiring a COOK to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen while helping us deliver the authentic Egyptian dishes our guests love.
Job Duties:
· Plan and prepare authentic Egyptian dishes in accordance with the restaurant’s established recipes, and culinary traditions.
· Prepare and present daily Egyptian specials using traditional methods and authentic flavours.
· Operate all kitchen equipment such with confidence and care.
· Determine appropriate portion sizes and estimate food requirements and costs to support inventory and budgeting.
· Accurately follow customer-specific instructions, including dietary preferences and allergies.
· Prepare and present “Special of the Day” offerings with creativity and consistency.
· Adhere to food preparation standards to minimize waste and maintain quality.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment in accordance with health regulations.
· Oversee kitchen operations and provide guidance and instruction to kitchen helpers.
Wage: $36/hour. You will work for a minimum of 30 hours per week; Must be available to work in shifts, holidays and weekends.
Experience & Skills
· 1-2 years of experience
· Thorough understanding of cooking techniques & kitchen operations
· Attention to detail & commitment to food quality
· Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy restaurant
Overtime: 1.5 times the wage after 44 hours per week.
