Do you enjoy organized chaos, perfectly timed tickets, and pretending you’re fine during a dinner rush?

Can you dice onions at high speed while debating the best ski run, bike path or hiking trail in Fernie?

Do you believe “behind” and “corner” are complete sentences?

Perfect.

The Bridge Bistro is looking for a reliable, experienced Line / Prep Cook to join our kitchen team. We’re a busy casual restaurant, serving locals, tourists, powder chasers, bike addicts, and hungry people who somehow all arrive at once.

We’re looking for a passionate, reliable, and hard-working Line / Prep Cook to join our busy kitchen team. Whether you thrive on the line during a rush or enjoy the precision of prep work, we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their craft and works well as part of a team.

We work hard, move fast, and take food seriously.

This is the kind of job where you’ll finish service tired, slightly covered in prep stains, smelling vaguely of garlic and fryer oil, and still probably go for a beer with the crew afterward, or a bike ride. Or you do your favorite activities during the day, and finish off with the most productive evening service.

What You’ll Actually Be Doing

Prepping vegetables, sauces, soups, and proteins
Working the line during busy services
Stocking and organizing deliveries
Cleaning and maintaining stations
Helping newer staff learn the ropes
Staying productive when it’s quiet and calm when it’s not
Some heavy lifting is involved.

The kitchen gets hot.
Weekends exist.
You already knew that.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 1-2 years experience in a full-service restaurant kitchen
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience as a prep cook and/or line cook
Someone dependable, organized, and fast on their feet
A strong work ethic and good attitude
A team player who notices what needs doing before being asked
References required.

Why Fernie?

Because your “after work plans” can involve skiing, biking, hiking, fishing, climbing, or sitting on a patio talking about all the things you should have prepped earlier.

Fernie has a habit of turning seasonal jobs into long-term stays.

Accommodation is available for experienced cooks.
