Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Foreman / Lead Decorator to supervise and coordinate decorative and finishing work on residential and/or commercial projects. The successful candidate will lead a team of decorators, ensure quality workmanship, and maintain project timelines.
Main Duties:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of decorators and finishing workers
- Plan and schedule work to meet project deadlines
- Inspect ongoing and completed work to ensure quality standards are met
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Prepare surfaces and oversee painting, wallpapering, plastering, and decorative finishes
- Order materials and ensure efficient use of supplies
- Train and mentor junior staff and assign duties
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and regulations
- Communicate with project managers, clients, and other trades as required
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in decorating, painting, or finishing trades
- Previous experience in a supervisory or foreman role is an asset
- Strong knowledge of decorative techniques (painting, wallpapering, finishing)
- Ability to read blueprints and project specifications
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Basic English language proficiency
Additional Information:
Work may involve standing for extended periods, lifting materials, and working at heights
Personal protective equipment (PPE) required as per safety regulations
Full time 30 hours per week
Hourly Rate $ 36.50
