Job Description

We are looking for well experienced Pastry Cook for “The Royal Hotel” located at 247 Main Street Picton, Ontario K0K 2T0, Canada.

JOB DUTIES:

●      Prepare and bake a variety of artisan pastries, cakes, tarts, cookies, viennoiserie, breads, and specialty desserts for the hotel’s restaurant, café, bakery counter, private events, and catering services.

●      Prepare pastry doughs, batters, fillings, creams, glazes, and decorative elements using standardized recipes while maintaining consistent quality, flavour, and presentation.

●      Produce seasonal desserts and baked goods featuring locally sourced ingredients and farm-fresh products in accordance with the hotel’s farm-to-table culinary philosophy.

●      Monitor the quality and freshness of ingredients and finished products, ensuring all baked goods meet established quality, food safety, and presentation standards.

●      Plan daily pastry production to meet service requirements for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, retail bakery sales, room service, and special events while minimizing product waste.

●      Maintain inventory of baking ingredients and pastry supplies, monitor stock levels, and report replenishment requirements to ensure uninterrupted production.

●      Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary pastry workstation while complying with food safety, sanitation, and occupational health and safety regulations.

●      Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to develop seasonal pastry offerings, support banquet and catering functions, and ensure the timely preparation and delivery of baked goods and desserts.

Prerequisites:

Education:                               Secondary School or equivalent experience

Experience & Skills:                5 years or more

Language:                               English

Hourly Rate: $24 to $25 per Hour for 30 to 40 Hours per week

Starting Date: As soon as possible

Terms of Employment: Fulltime and permanent
